Download 'SIM74_hotfix_2016_Jun_linux.tar.gz' to its own directory on the system with HP Systems Insight Manager installed. 2. Ensure that you are logged in as the "root" user to the system. 3. Change directories to the directory containing 'SIM74_hotfix_2016_Jun_linux.tar.gz'. 4. Expand the TAR file using the following command: tar -zxvf SIM74_hotfix_2016_Jun_linux.tar.gz 5. Change directories to 'SIM74': cd SIM74 6. Change the permissions of the installation script to allow the root user to run it. This can be done using the following command: chmod u+x install 7. Run the script as follows: ./install 8. After a successful installation, you may delete the files unpacked in step 4 if you wish. The entire update should take less than 10 minutes.
