To determine whether you need to install the service release, you must verify the HP System Installation and Recovery version that is running on the HP StoreEasy Storage.
This service release version is applicable for HP StoreEasy products listed in the Product models section.
An HP System Installation and Recovery version that is less than the version listed in the Description section indicates that you are running an older version of the HP StoreEasy Storage software. HP recommends that you upgrade to the latest version.
To determine the current service release version for HP StoreEasy 1000, 3000, 5000, and 3PAR StoreServ File Controller:
Log in to the server blade.
Open a command window.
Enter the following registry command and verify the service release version in the output:
C:\> reg query HKLM\Software\Hewlett-Packard\StorageServer
A service release that is less than the version listed in the output indicates you are running an older version of the StoreEasy software. HP recommends that you upgrade to the latest version.
Instructions for installing the storage system are provided in the Quick Start Guide of your product.
Before installing the service release, make sure that the system drive on which you install the service release has a minimum 5 GB of available space to accommodate the upgrade. The specific amount of disk space required depends on the components that you select for installation.
NOTE:
| |
Go to http://www.hp.com/go/support.
Select Drivers & Downloads.
Enter your product name or model number (for example, HP StoreEasy 1000 Storage, HP StoreEasy 3000 Storage, HP StoreEasy 5000 Storage, or HP 3PAR StoreServ File Controller) in Enter a product name or number and click Go.
Select your model, select the operating system, and then select the service release.
Download the Service Release package to a temporary folder on your system.
Run the Service Release package on the StoreEasy system and follow the prompts on the service release installation window. Run the service release installer until the required components are installed.
Accept the EULA (End-User License Agreement).
NOTE: The EULA appears twice before the installation starts. Therefore, you must accept the EULA twice for the installation to start.
You may choose to unselect some components. However, HP strongly recommends that all components be installed.
Click Install.
After installing the selected components, reboot the system.
IMPORTANT: Some updates depend on other updates being installed first. Therefore, it is necessary to run the service release, reboot the system, and then run the service release a second time.
NOTE: After you install the service release and reboot the system, the service release installer shortcut is not removed automatically from the desktop. No action occurs if you click the shortcut. You can delete the shortcut.
This service release includes updates and security patches available on Windows update up to June 2015.
A new digitally signed HPnasoobe.ps1 file is included in this service release. This file resolves the crash issues with the ICT window in Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 for HP StoreEasy 1000 Storage, HP StoreEasy 3000 Storage, and HP 3PAR StoreServ File Controller. The file is located at C:\Program Files\HP\ICT\nasoobe.
The service release GUI does not display the text for Hotfixes, Windows updates, and Security updates that are available on the Microsoft website. Only generic messages are displayed for these updates.
Workaround: There is no workaround for this issue.
When you reinstall the SR 2015.07.3 in a system with Japanese OS, the installer prompts you to install the SPP components, although the SPP components are already installed in the system.
Workaround: Navigate to the control panel and verify if the SPP components are installed. If the components are already installed, then you can choose either to install the SPP components or to reinstall it again.
