..Description

This package contains an operating system-specific set of optimized drivers and storage management software for the HP StorageWorks 2000 Modular Smart Array (MSA2000). This software bundle has been tested and released for the MSA Software Support CD, and is built with the same technology as the HP ProLiant Linux Support Pack (LSP) to ensure proper installation and functionality. This bundle uses the same install.sh and HP Software Smart Components as LSP.

Fibre Channel Utilities for HP StorageWorks FCA2214/FCA2214DC FC HBA for Linux  Includes utilities for installing and configuring the HP-supported Fibre Channel host bus adapter drivers.

HP Linux Driver Kit for Emulex Based Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters for 2.6.x Kernels  This is a scripted RPM that provides the HP-supported version of the Light Pulse Fibre Channel (lpfc) host bus adapter driver. The Emulex library to support the Rubah is also included.

HP StorageWorks QLogic Fibre Channel Driver for 2.6.x Kernels  This RPM provides the HP supported version of the QLogic Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter driver. It is a scripted RPM that will build the driver from source code contained in the RPM, copy the driver files to the correct directories, and edit the system startup files so that the driver starts at system boot time. This version of the driver RPM only works with 2.6 kernels.

HP NC-Series Broadcom TG3 Driver  This RPM contains the tg3 driver for HP NC-Series Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet NICs running under Linux.

QLogic iSCSI Driver  This RPM contains the iSCSI driver for QLogic QMH4062 1GbE iSCSI Adapter for HP BladeSystem c-Class running Linux.

HP NC-Series Intel igb Driver  This RPM contains the driver for the HP NC-Series Intel N1Q Gigabit Ethernet NICs running under Linux. Supports the following HP NC-Series Intel N1Q network adapters:

  • HP NC362i Integrated Dual Port Gigabit Server Adapter

  • HP NC362i Integrated Dual Port BL-c Gigabit Server Adapter

HP ProLiant Smart Array Controller Drivers  This RPM is used to provide binary driver modules that have been pre-built to enable HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA, 6x and 5x Series controllers. This RPM provides a customer-friendly approach to install a pre-built binary driver. On some kernel erratas the version of the driver present in the kernel may be equal to the version being installed by the rpm. However, the driver in the kernel may not include all of the fixes and enhancements implemented in the driver contained within the rpm. Therefore the rpm should be installed to obtain the fixes and enhancements that are not present in the kernel driver.

HP NC-Series Intel Driver  This RPM contains the driver for the NC-Series Intel PCI/PCIx Gigabit Ethernet NICs running under Linux. Supports the following network adapters: NC7170, NC7132, NC7131, NC6170, NC6136, NC310F, and NC340T.

HP NC-Series Intel e1000e Driver  This RPM contains the driver for the NC-Series Intel PCIe Gigabit Ethernet NICs running under Linux. Supports the following network adapters: NC110T, NC112T, NC360m, NC360T, NC364m, and NC364T.

  • Added a –c option to lssg and lssd, which instructs the scripts to read device information from cache instead of directly querying the device.

  • lssg now verifies that /sys/class/scsi_generic exists.

  • Fixed a case when lssg appeared unresponsive when scanning.

HP Linux Driver Kit for Emulex Based Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters for 2.6.x Kernels (8.2.0)

  • The driver in the RPM is version 8.2.0.22_p1.

  • For SLES 10–based Linux distributions, the service pack must be SP 1 or higher.

  • If you are using the HBAAPI included with this RPM to get HBA data, you will need to install the netlink library (libnl.so) on your system. The library uses the netlink library to communicate with the driver.

  • This component conforms to RPM commonality specification.

HP Linux Driver Kit for Emulex Based Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters for 2.6.x Kernels (8.0.16)

  • For RHEL 4–based Linux distributions, using hp-lpfc-8.0.16.32-4.linux.rpm.tar.gz.

..Installation instructions

MSA software bundle installation instructions

  1. Copy the Linux PSP, including all RPMs, XML files, shell scripts, and the hppldu tarball to the Linux target server from either an administrative workstation or another server before it is deployed. After the software is on the target server, the installation can be driven from either a terminal window on the target server or an ssh connection to the target server. The GTK interface is network aware, so the interface will display on remote X terminals if the required GTK libraries and the local DISPLAY environment variable are configured appropriately.

  2. Obtain the software bundle either by downloading it from http://www.hp.com/go/msa or from the latest MSA Software and Documentation CD.

  3. Install the bundle with the ./install.sh shell script.

    • Use the ./install.sh shell script without a command-line option to install via a graphical interface.

    • Use the ./install.sh shell script with the -nui command-line option to install on a terminal window.

    • Use the ./install.sh shell script with the -silent command-line option to install silently.

NOTE: For QLogic HBA with the HP Device Mapper, edit /etc/modprobe.conf to set ql2xfailover=0, which allows HPDM to handle fail over.

NOTE: If you install the MSA Software Bundle and then install any operating system updates, HP recommends reinstalling the MSA Software Bundle.
