The following packages contain operating-system-specific sets of optimized drivers and storage management software for HP StorageWorks P2000 G3 Modular Smart Array (P2000) products. These software bundles have been tested and released for the Software Support CD to ensure proper installation and functionality.
This software bundle is built using the same technology as the HP ProLiant Support Pack (PSP), which uses HP SUM and HP software Smart Components. This software bundle is a supplement to the PSP, rather than a replacement for the PSP and contains driver files that are newer than the ProLiant Support Pack version 8.40.

Fibre Channel Adapter Kit for the Emulex Storport Driver, Fibre Channel Adapter Kit for the QLogic Storport Driver, and HBAnyware Utility
The driver installation with this Smart Component requires a minimum Windows Server 2003 SP1, SP2, or R2, along with the Microsoft Storport update, KB932755.
Apply the Microsoft Storport update (KB932755) before installing or upgrading to this version of the miniport driver. For boot installations, Windows Server 2003 SP2 install image is required first, followed by the KB update.
The MPIO DSM enables multipath support for the P2000/MSA2000 Fibre Channel and SAS arrays on Windows Server 2003 and 2003 R2. iSCSI arrays, and all arrays attached to Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 do not require the HP P2000/MSA2000 MPIO DSM, but are instead supported by the native Microsoft MPIO DSM.
Before installing this component, note the following:
This release can be installed directly on top of previous releases of the P2000/MSA2000 MPIO DSM as long as the previous release is 2.2 or higher. Do not attempt to remove MPIO first if the system is booting from an MPIO device. You do not have to uninstall existing DSMs.
The command line interface (CLI) utility, dsmcli, can be invoked from the Windows Start menu or from C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP MPIO DSM\MSA2000\dsmcli.exe to configure the DSM.
This package installs the Microsoft MPIO DSM framework, along with an HP MPIO DSM that provides support for P2000 and MSA2000 devices. MPIO drivers are installed only if no other MPIO drivers are in the system or if the currently installed version of MPIO drivers are older than the versions in the download package.
If older, existing MPIO drivers are already installed, the installer prompts for permission to overwrite the existing versions of the Microsoft framework with the versions in this package.
If the same or more recent MPIO drivers are installed, the installer will not prompt and will not overwrite the existing versions of the Microsoft MPIO framework with the versions in this package.
Overwriting MPIO drivers may fail in some cases. You may need to uninstall MPIO DSMs, and install them again. When removing the P2000/MSA2000 MPIO DSM, the Microsoft MPIO drivers are not removed, because they may be needed by another DSM.
Restart the system after installing or removing the MPIO DSM.
The HP StorageWorks P2000/MSA2000 CAPI Proxy provides support for the P2000/MSA2000 VDS and VSS hardware providers on Windows Server 2003 and 2008 platforms. It enables the VSS and VDS Hardware Providers to access the StorageWorks P2000/MSA2000 RAID storage subsystems using inband SCSI commands.
This release can be installed directly on top of previous releases as long as the previous release is 2.2 or higher.
Some HBA drivers may need to be reconfigured before they will pass more than 64 KB of data for a SCSI pass-through command. The CAPI Proxy requires that the HBA driver support transfers of up to 128 KB.
This package should be installed prior to installing the P2000/MSA2000 VDS or VSS Providers.
The SES Driver implements a "null driver" for Windows Server 2003 which prevents unwanted "Found New Hardware" dialog boxes from being displayed. This driver is not required for Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2 environments.
VDS Providers enable VDS client applications to manage RAID storage subsystems. These hardware providers require the installation of the CAPI Proxy component.
Before installing this package, install the StorageWorks P2000/MSA2000 CAPI Proxy package. The VDS Provider does not function without the CAPI Proxy.
After the CAPI Proxy and VDS Provider are installed, no further configuration is required.
There are separate VDS Providers for iSCSI and non-iSCSI products. Verify that you have the correct package for your product.
This release can be installed directly on top of previous releases of P2000/MSA2000 VDS Provider, versions 2.2 or later.
If DISKRAID exits abnormally, stop the VDS service with the net stop vds command. The VDS service will automatically restart. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to terminate the DLLHOST process which hosts the VSS Provider. If more than one DLLHOST process is running, Microsoft Sysinternals Process Explorer utility can be used to determine which DLLHOST process is hosting the VSS Provider.
The following DISKRAID commands are not supported: add, break, invalidatecache, ipsec, offline, online, recover, remove, replace, reset, and standby.
Only two operations of MAINTENANCE are supported: BLINK on a drive; BEEP on a CONTROLLER.
The QLogic HBA registry parameter "MaximumSGList" must be set to a value of 33 (decimal) or higher, so that the CAPI Proxy can transfer up to 128KB of data in a single SCSI command. For QLogic 2300 cards, double click qla2300.reg in CAPI Proxy installation directory (C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HardwareProviders\MSA2000\VDS\FC) to install an appropriate registry entry. For other HBA drivers, refer to the manufacturer’s documentation for information on how to change this parameter.
The create lun command will use an existing vdisk if the vdisk has enough free space to satisfy the request.
Changes made to the array configuration by the SMU may not be visible to VDS clients until the DISKRAID refresh provider command (or equivalent operation in other clients) is used to refresh the VDS Hardware Provider’s internal database.
After a LUN is assigned to the host, you may need to execute a rescan operation in Device Manager to view the paths for the LUN in some commands, such as detail lun.
The VSS Provider enables VSS client applications to perform snapshot operations on StorageWorks P2000/MSA2000 RAID storage subsystems.
Before installing this package, install the StorageWorks P2000/MSA2000 Family CAPI Proxy package. The VSS Provider does not function without the CAPI Proxy.

A license key must be installed to enable snapshot functionality.
MSA2000 arrays can create at most 16 snapshots at the same time; delete snapshots when they are no longer needed.
This release can be installed directly on top of previous releases of the P2000/MSA2000 VSS provider as long as the previous release is 2.2 or higher.
The software bundle is delivered as a self-extracting executable. If you received it in this form, execute the file to extract the bundle into a new folder. If you are using MPIO, before installing this bundle, run the MPIO-DSM smart component included in this bundle in the extracted msa2000 subdirectory.
Run the setup.exe program included with the Software Bundle.

A BPXXXXXX.CMD file is provided with the Support Pack for use in installing the Support Pack from a command prompt without user interaction. All software appropriate for the system it is being run on will be installed.
