The HP MSA Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) integrates with VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM) to manage replication features on HP MSA storage systems. Combine SRA with the Remote Snap replication to automate failover, failback, and data migration between geographically separated sites.
NOTE: HP MSA arrays must be upgraded to the latest firmware version before installing this SRA version.

For HCL filters, in the What you are looking for dropdown, select Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
In the SRA Name field, select HP MSA SRA or HP P2000 Storage Replication Adapter.
Click the Update and View Results button to display search results.
From the search results, click on the SRA Name link to display the supported MSA models.
This SRA runs on any operating system supported by VMware vCenter. For more information, see the Compatibility Matrixes for vCenter Site Recovery Manager on the VMware website at http://www.vmware.com/support/srm/srm-compat-matrix-5-0.html.
The following issues were fixed in MSA SRA 5.8.0.24: | |

| Workaround for issue where sometimes there are distinct Current and Common sync points reported for the same master volume. The SRA will choose the Current sync point. |
The HP MSA SRA requires the following:
Two VMware vCenter servers running a supported version of ESX or ESXi, one at each site.
Two instances of VMware SRM installed, one at each site.
VMware recommends installing SRM on servers that are not running vCenter.

Two supported HP MSA Storage Systems with Remote Snap licensed and configured, one at each site.
P2000 G3 MSA firmware must be the same or higher than TS252R007. If needed, obtain and install the latest TS252 firmware from the HP Support website at http://www.hp.com/support/downloads.

Configure the Remote Snap replication sets on the MSA Systems using the Storage Management Utility (SMU). For more information, see the following documents:

Install VMware vCenter and SRM on their respective servers using instructions provided with those components. Do not yet configure SRM.
Download the HP MSA SRA component to a temporary location on the servers with SRM installed. The filename is in the format: hp-msa-sra-5.8.x.x.zip, where x represents the release number.
Extract and run setup-hp-msa-sra-xxx.exe. Follow the onscreen instructions in the installer to install the SRA.
Configure SRM to use the SRA, using the SRM Plugin vSphere Client.
