At a minimum, the Logs page provides the following log categories:

  • System Management Homepage Log

  • SAM Log Viewer (HP-UX only)

  • Httpd Error Log (Windows and Linux)

  • System Management Homepage Error Log (HP-UX)

Logs contained in the installed HP Web-enabled System Management Software can appear on this page. For example, if the HP Version Control Agent is installed, a link to the Version Control Agent log appears on the Logs page. As another example, if the Distributed Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU) is installed, a link to the System Log Viewer appears on the Logs page. Each log file is divided into pages that display a total of 40 log entries to a page.

With this installation, in the case of Windows and Linux, the old smh.log file is held in reserve as a human-readable, English-only log. It is not available through the user interface. Access the file directly to read the old log. New log messages are not written to this file.

The smh_enc.log (in Windows and Linux), andsmh.log (HP-UX) contains encoded entries in the following format:

TypeDescription
Severity

The severity of the event logged. The following are the severity levels:

  • Informational (5)

  • Warning (6)

  • Minor (3)

  • Major (4)

  • Critical (8)

TimestampThe time the event happened, represented in seconds since 00:00:00 UTC, January 1, 1970.
ID (Windows and Linux only)The log message ID, used to locate the translated log message.
Arguments (Windows and Linux only)Arguments to be consumed by printf() in log messages that use argument conversion specifiers such as %s and %d.
